My Story

An artist’s journey. Most of my life I have made stuff out of wood. In middle and high school, I always took the woodworking classes available. I signed up for the local career center, a vocational school offering carpentry. That had seemed like the next logical step, but it was mostly building houses. Upon graduating, I was hired by a company to work on framing houses, but that didn’t inspire me. I guess I like working on the smaller stuff. Over the years I have made things for myself. Things that I needed or wanted, I just figured out how to make for myself. Finding pleasure in the creation process, as well as enjoying the final products got me thinking about gift giving for friends and family. If I made something for a present for someone it was always custom created with wood. I have received enthusiastic thanks and have seen my custom gifts displayed prominently in the homes of friends and family, which brought me much joy and no small measure of pride. At the end of 2018 I finally decided to take that natural next step and do what I am good at and passionate about. I began designing and crafting pieces for sale as a side gig. After a couple of years, I realized that I could eventually do this full time and that became the goal. While photo frames and clocks made for some handsome personalized and thoughtful gifts, my own journey into eroticism inspired a new direction over the years in my handcrafting. It started with a paddle as a sort of gag gift, which inspired me to keep creating adult toys, some of which the woman in my life has enjoyed experiencing with me. Silicone and acrylics came next, and my repertoire expanded. During Thanksgiving of 2021 I was encouraged by my family and so I decided it was time to take the leap and quit my full-time job. Now I’m specializing in custom handcrafted goods for a living. Artistry isn’t just the execution and production of new Serenity Theory pieces. It’s also making sure each piece will look beautiful and function well, whether it will be displayed or put to use. Even hard use. Especially hard use! Sorry, those pesky innuendos snuck back in again. Please reach out to me to learn more about how I can work with you to realize your dreams. If you don't see what you have in mind already for sale on my site, I would be more than happy to talk with you about creating something closer to your individual tastes. There is no judgement here. Your tastes are your tastes, your lifestyle and journey your own business. I’ll never mock your choices or try to make you feel bad or small for your desires. If your custom piece is something that I’m not comfortable designing, I will tell you that politely with no disrespect, but it’s a rare occasion that I’m confronted with an idea I can’t accommodate as I am a fairly open-minded man with my own evolving tastes and peccadillos. Buying from me means supporting a small local business where every dollar goes directly into the hands of a skilled, dedicated, and creative artisan. No CEOs or fat cats are getting bonuses from my sales. My family is housed, fed, clothed, and cared for through my hard work and hard-earned skills. My sales fund my workshop, my supplies, my equipment, and my future. Thank you for your support and your business, it means the world to me.
